Orange Rule

The NCGA’s Targeted Agricultural Education Program is designed to educate the 2008 presidential candidates about issues of importance to growers and their communities and to involve growers in the political process by providing them access to candidates, their organizations and events, as well as the information they need to make an informed choice in the 2008 presidential primaries and general election.

The issues

To help you make an informed choice of candidate on the issues, the NCGA has sent a questionnaire to the presidential campaigns asking them their positions on issues that are important to growers.  In addition, staff and consultants of the Iowa Corn Growers Association have also tracked the candidates’ stated positions on important issues. Choose an issue below to review statements and positions.

Capital Gains Tax Estate Tax
Ethanol and Renewable Fuels Farm Bill
Trade

You can also view positions on all these issues taken by a particular candidate and learn more about them and their campaigns by choosing the following links. You also can find information on how to get involved in their campaign.  It is vital that growers become engaged in the process, educating candidates and their staffs about issues important to them and flexing their considerable grassroots muscle.

Democrats Republicans
Hillary Clinton John McCain
Barack Obama
