The United States is the largest corn producer in the world. In 2010, corn growers in the United States produced 316.2 million metric tons (MMT) of corn, with projected exports of 49.5 MMT. The top five destinations for U.S. corn are: Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, and Egypt.

The Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Cooperator Program (FMD), both administered by USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), help promote U.S. agricultural products - including corn and value-added corn products - in key overseas markets.
