Charlie Cook Scheduled to Give Keynote Address at Commodity Classic

ST. LOUIS (December 6, 2007) — The General Session of the 2008 Commodity Classic promises to be one of the most dynamic ever with a lineup highlighted by Charlie Cook, who will deliver the keynote address via satellite.  Cook, widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends, will provide valuable insight into the upcoming U.S. elections.

Commodity Classic, the annual convention and trade show of the American Soybean Association (ASA), the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), and the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) will be held Feb. 28-March 1 in Nashville, Tenn.

The General Session will also bring together American Soybean Association (ASA) President John Hoffman, National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) President John Thaemert, and National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) President Ron Litterer to discuss happenings in agriculture and priorities for each association in a roundtable hosted by U.S. Farm Report’s John Phipps.

“I am excited about the opportunity to talk with my fellow grower-leaders at Commodity Classic’s General Session,” said John Thaemert.  “This will be an excellent opportunity for us all to hear from Charlie Cook, one of the great political analysts of our time, and to give our thoughts on the implications of such policy for our industry.”

Additionally, Mike Rayburn, world-class guitarist and stand-up comedian, will perform.

“Commodity Classic has assembled another lively General Session this year and we are confident growers will enjoy the program,” said Litterer.

Commodity Classic will feature valuable educational sessions, cutting-edge technological demonstrations, association banquets, entertainment events and important networking opportunities.

“Commodity Classic is an important event for U.S. soybean farmers from across the country,” said Hoffman.  “In addition to the General Session, farmers from Florida to North Dakota, and from New York to Texas, can meet on the trade show floor to learn and visit about cutting-edge opportunities in our industry.”

Registration and housing reservations are being accepted now.  For more information, please visit www.commodityclassic.com.
