Collin Raye to Perform at 2007 Commodity Classic Evening of Entertainment

ST. LOUIS (October 16, 2006)--Commodity Classic, the combined convention and trade show of the American Soybean Association (ASA), the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG), and the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), has announced country music star Collin Raye will be the headline act for the Evening of Entertainment at the 2007 Commodity Classic March 1-3, in Tampa, Fla.

Raye, who has had several number one hits on country music charts, will perform on Saturday, March 3, at the “Evening of Entertainment” sponsored by Monsanto. Some of his hits include: “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “My Kind of Girl,”  “I Can Still Feel You,” and “That's My Story and I'm Sticking to It.”

“Music can make a difference,” said Raye on his Web site, www.collinraye.com. “Winning an award isn't enough incentive for me. People come to these shows because these songs are inspiring to them. That's what gets me on that tour bus every week. That's what keeps me interested in making records.”

Raye has been nominated six times as “Male Vocalist of the Year” by the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. He has scored numerous number one hits on the video music charts and won the Academy of Country Music Video of the Year Award for “I Think About You.”

“Collin Raye was one of our top choices for the Evening of Entertainment, so we’re pretty excited to have such a well-known artist perform at our event,” said Commodity Classic co-chairman Curt Sindergard. “The majority of Classic participants enjoy country western music, and the Evening of Entertainment is a great way to wrap up our meetings and trade show. It also serves as a special ‘thank you’ to everyone who attends Commodity Classic.”

“Once again, Commodity Classic is excited to bring top music talent as entertainment for the attendees,” said Commodity Classic co-chairman Richard Peterson. “The Evening of Entertainment is one of the highlights of the event, and we are certain Collin Raye will deliver a great performance.”

This year’s Commodity Classic will be held at the Tampa Convention Center. For more information about Commodity Classic, visit www.commodityclassic.com.
