Farmers Go to Commodity Classic Because it’s Good For Business
ST. LOUIS (February 15, 2006) -- In two weeks, corn and soybean growers from around the country will gather at the 10th Anniversary Commodity Classic, in Anaheim, Calif., March 2-4, 2006, for an experience that will educate, enlighten and entertain them. It’s an experience that can provide benefits for a grower’s farm operation and profitability for years to come.
There’s still time for growers to register for the 2006 Commodity Classic, which offers educational sessions on such topics as protecting the number one customer for soy and corn, building international customers, taking control of grain belt agriculture, new generation grain contracts and new technology in agriculture, to name a few. A highly praised trade show adds even more value to Commodity Classic.
“Farmers can expand their knowledge through timely and relevant educational sessions, and they’ll have an information-packed experience at the trade show with more than 600 booths,” said Bob Metz, President of the American Soybean Association. “Gain the advantage of networking with other growers and talking with top industry leaders.”
Noted ag commentator and U.S. Farm Report host John Phipps will once again emcee this year’s General Session. Keynote speaker Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns will share his perspectives on the 2007 farm bill. Highlighting the event will be country music artist and speaker Michael Peterson, who will inspire the audience with his message of Americans’ duty to country and community. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will discuss the future of renewable fuels in America, and noted agriculture speaker Dr. Jay Lehr will deliver a message that will motivate the agricultural audience and encourage them to spread their message of success. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been invited to participate in the renewable fuels discussion with Pawlenty.
“It’s hard to believe Commodity Classic is almost here,” said NCGA President Gerald Tumbleson. There is still time for growers to take advantage of this opportunity that can help them be more profitable.”
The 2006 Commodity Classic will wrap up on Saturday, March 4, with music and fun at the “Evening of Entertainment” featuring the award-winning country singer Lorrie Morgan.
Experience swaying palm trees, 42 miles of incredible coastline, museums, historic sites, and world famous entertainment attractions including the Disneyland Resort and Knott's Berry Farm®, as well as fabulous beaches, challenging golf courses and a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities.
