Farmers Celebrate the Magic Of Success at Commodity Classic

(ST. LOUIS) November 16, 2005 -- Corn and soybean farmers who attend the 10th anniversary Commodity Classic, March 2-4, 2006, in Anaheim, Calif., will celebrate “the magic of success” at this year’s event. Through powerful educational sessions, growers will learn from respected industry leaders about how to improve farm efficiency and profitability.

Commodity Classic is the annual convention and trade show presented by the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the American Soybean Association (ASA). It brings growers together with key decision-makers in the agricultural industry and farmer leaders from around the country.

ASA President Bob Metz said: “Commodity Classic is an opportunity for growers to expand their knowledge through ‘Learning Center’ sessions and access to top industry professionals. Growers who want to continually improve the profitability of their farm operation will be making a wise investment when they attend Commodity Classic.”

Noted ag commentator and U.S. Farm Report host John Phipps will once again emcee this year’s General Session. Highlighting the event will be country music artist and speaker Michael Peterson, who will inspire the audience with his message of Americans’ duty to country and community.  Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will discuss the future of renewable fuels in America, and noted agriculture speaker Dr. Jay Lehr will deliver a message that will motivate the agricultural audience and encourage them to spread their message of success. Invited speakers include California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld.

Another highlight of Commodity Classic will be the “Evening of Entertainment” featuring award-winning country music star Lorrie Morgan. Four-time female vocalist of the year, Morgan became a member of the Grand Ole Opry long before she released her platinum-selling debut album Leave the Light On in 1989. She quickly became one of country music’s most popular and successful female artists charting more than a dozen top 10 hits including "Five Minutes," "What Part of No" and "I Didn’t Know My Own Strength" which all landed at number one.
