Farmers Reach for New Limits
at Commodity Classic
ST. LOUIS (November
3, 2004) -- Corn and soybean farmers who attend Commodity Classic,
Feb. 24-26, in Austin, Texas, will
be “reaching
for new limits.” Through powerful educational sessions, growers
will learn from respected industry leaders about how to improve farm
efficiency and profitability.
Commodity Classic is the annual convention and trade show presented
by the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the American Soybean
Association (ASA). It brings growers together with key decision-makers
in the agricultural industry and farmer leaders from around the country.
ASA President Neal Bredehoeft said, “Commodity Classic is an
opportunity for growers to expand their knowledge through ‘Learning
Center’ sessions and access to top industry professionals.
Growers who want to continually improve their farm operation, and
thereby their profitability, will be making a wise investment when
they attend Commodity Classic.”
Growers at the
2005 Commodity Classic are sure to benefit from the value of attending
a trade show with nearly 700 booths representing
the equipment, technology, products and services of today’s leading
agricultural businesses and organizations.
“Commodity Classic provides an experience that will educate,
enlighten and entertain you in many ways,” said NCGA President
Leon Corzine. “I encourage all growers to add to the value of
their farm business by attending.”
Noted ag commentator
John Phipps will moderate the Commodity Classic General Session panel,
which includes Greenpeace
co-founder Patrick
Moore; agriculture biotechnology expert Sano Shimoda; and Lynn Jensen,
U.S. Department of Agriculture’s rural development director for
South Dakota. The panel will explore a variety of topics, including
the promise of biotechnology, combating negative consumer attitudes
toward technology and farming,
redefining U.S. agriculture’s role to improve the economic and
social well-being of Americans, and strategies for moving rural America
forward.
Motivational speaker
and Olympic skier Vince Poscente will be the closing speaker at the
2005 Commodity Classic General
Session. Poscente,
an energetic, engaging “peak performance strategist,” was
recently inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame. He will provide a
series of proven performance strategies.
Another highlight
of Commodity Classic will be the “Evening
of Entertainment” featuring the well-known and award-winning
country music group Restless Heart. The group, which produced numerous
hits on the country charts and had crossover success on adult contemporary
radio, was one of the premier country acts of the late 1980s and early
90s.
