NCGA Reminds Growers to “Know Before You Grow” (4-11-06)
The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) reminds growers to visit the Know Before You Grow database before making planting and marketing decisions.
The Web tool, found at www.ncga.com under the Biotechnology section, allows growers to view which biotech events are approved for U.S., Japan and/or European Union market consumption and to compare the events that share the same status.
The site is updated whenever a new biotech event receives approval or a change to a current event is made.
“The Know Before You Grow tool is a great medium for growers to easily find which biotech events are approved for a particular market before they plant,” said Paul Bertels, NCGA director of biotechnology. “With the recent approval of Dow and Pioneer’s Herculex Rootworm technologies, now is a good time for growers to visit the Know Before You Grow site.”
Dow Agro Sciences and Pioneer International, a subsidiary of DuPont, recently received final Japanese approval for their Herculex RW, Herculex RW+RR2, Herculex XTRA (CB+RW) and Herculex XTRA+RR2 biotech events. |
