AgriTalk Celebrates
New E85 Pump in Rock Port, Mo. (9-9-05)
Motorists can
save some cash by filling up for just 85 cents per gallon today at
MO Valley Ag gas station in Rock Port, Mo., as the area celebrates
the grand opening of the its first E85 pump, the National Corn Growers
Association notes. AgriTalk host Mike Adams will be in Rock Port to
broadcast the festivities live from 10 to 11 a.m.
The E85 pump was installed
at no charge as the result of a joint effort between Monsanto, Golden
Triangle Energy, MO Valley Ag, and the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition.
Golden Triangle Energy is an ethanol plant in Craig, Mo.
“This initiative
is a sound, sensible way to help grow the ethanol industry,”
said B.J. Bailey, president of the Missouri Corn Growers Association.
“We support this homegrown alternative fuel and applaud Golden
Triangle Energy, MO Valley Ag and Monsanto on their partnership to
provide a market for higher-ethanol-yielding corn for corn growers.”
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
the station will have E85 for just 85 cents. Sam Graves (R-Mo.), 6th
Congressional District representative, will attend the event, as well
as representatives from Monsanto and the National Ethanol Vehicle
Coalition.
