AgriTalk Celebrates New E85 Pump in Rock Port, Mo. (9-9-05)

Motorists can save some cash by filling up for just 85 cents per gallon today at MO Valley Ag gas station in Rock Port, Mo., as the area celebrates the grand opening of the its first E85 pump, the National Corn Growers Association notes. AgriTalk host Mike Adams will be in Rock Port to broadcast the festivities live from 10 to 11 a.m.

The E85 pump was installed at no charge as the result of a joint effort between Monsanto, Golden Triangle Energy, MO Valley Ag, and the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition. Golden Triangle Energy is an ethanol plant in Craig, Mo.

“This initiative is a sound, sensible way to help grow the ethanol industry,” said B.J. Bailey, president of the Missouri Corn Growers Association. “We support this homegrown alternative fuel and applaud Golden Triangle Energy, MO Valley Ag and Monsanto on their partnership to provide a market for higher-ethanol-yielding corn for corn growers.”

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the station will have E85 for just 85 cents. Sam Graves (R-Mo.), 6th Congressional District representative, will attend the event, as well as representatives from Monsanto and the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition.

AgriTalk is broadcasted to 75 stations across the country.
