NCGA
Photo Contest Deadline on Horizon (10-5-05)
The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Gallery of Corn photo
contest gives photographers a unique opportunity to exhibit the inside
world of agriculture, but the deadline for entries is right around
the corner.
“Growers are in the middle of harvest, and what better way
to highlight life on the farm than with pictures of harvest,” said
Dave Boettger, chairman of NCGA’s Growers Services Action Team. “Seeing
agriculture and life on the farm through someone else’s eyes
can cultivate the idea of what it really means to be a U.S. farmer.”
Boettger reminds shutterbugs the entry deadline is Nov. 30 and noted
winning photographs will be exhibited at the 2006 Commodity Classic
trade show and convention in Anaheim, Calif. “This exhibit
gives photographers a chance for the public to view their photos
and get a sense of what agriculture is really about.”
A $500 grand prize will be awarded, as well as cash prizes in each
of seven categories including: Planting, Growing, Harvesting, Livestock,
Families on the Farm, Scenic and Miscellaneous. The photo contest
is open to NCGA grower members, families and affiliated state organization
members and employees.
The winning photographs will also be highlighted on NCGA’s
web site, www.ncga.com.
The contest is open to NCGA members, state corn affiliates and staff.
Winners will be announced in December. Contest rules, information
and entry forms are available at state corn association offices and
at www.ncga.com.
