NCGA, Financial Planners Association Partner on Education Mission (03-24-05)
In its quest to
provide additional valuable services to its members, the National
Corn Growers Association (NCGA) today announced an agreement with
the Financial Planning Association (FPA) that will allow NCGA to incorporate
financial literacy into educational programs for NCGA’s membership
of 33,000.
The FPA is a membership
organization directed at the financial planning community.
FPA will provide
guest speakers for NCGA conferences and events, both on a local and
national level, and NCGA will receive brochures on the financial planning
process for use at events. FPA will also supply NCGA with Financial
Planning Perspectives (FPP) articles to distribute to their membership,
which cover issues ranging from retirement to home mortgages.
“This alliance
between NCGA and the Financial Planners Association will provide NCGA
members and state organizations great educational opportunities,”
said Dave Boettger, NCGA’s Grower Services Action Team chair.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to provide financial and educational
benefits to each of our members who as independent businesspeople
make financial decisions every day concerning their farming operation.”
In addition, a
link to FPA’s PlannerSearch will be added to the NCGA Web site
in an effort to connect corn growers with CFP® professionals.
“This agreement
with NCGA provides a great opportunity for FPA to help corn growers
achieve their life goals and dreams,” said FPA President James
A. Barnash, CFP®. “It also allows financial planners to
get involved in the communities they live and work in.”
