NCGA Corn Congress Elects Board Members,
Ratifies McCauley as First Vice President (7-14-05)
The National
Corn Growers Association (NCGA) ratified Ken McCauley, a corn grower
from White Cloud, Kan., as its first vice president and elected
members to its Corn Board during its Corn Congress in Washington,
D.C., Wednesday.
Ken McCauley
was ratified as first vice president and begins three one-year terms
as an NCGA officer beginning Oct. 1, the start of NCGA’s 2006
fiscal year. McCauley will become president of the organization
October 2006 and then serve his remaining term as chairman the following
fiscal year.
Delegates to
Corn Congress also elected members to its Corn Board who will begin
their three-year terms Oct. 1. They are: Steven Yoder, Dalhart,
Texas; Daryl Haack, Primghar, Iowa; Dave Nelson, Belmond, Iowa;
and Darrin Ihnen, Hurley, S.D.
“These
next three years will be one of continued momentum on securing key
legislation important to the corn grower industry, in addition to
continuing to grow the success of the organization and the industry,”
McCauley said.
He added he
will work to increase NCGA’s membership and use innovation
to take agriculture to the next level. “I would like to see
the organization utilize the growing momentum we already have to
build our membership and voice in the policy and legislative arena
in addition to advancing the farmer-owned, value-added sector to
the next level,” McCauley said.
