NAMA Recognizes NCGA Communications Efforts with Three Awards (01-14-05)
The National Corn Growers
Association (NCGA) emerged from nearly 400 entrants to win three
awards at the Region II National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)
Awards banquet last week in Kansas City.
NAMA awards are given
to the top ag advertising, public relations, print, web and broadcast
campaigns each year. First place and merit awards were given for
each category. Winners advance to the national competition April
20-22 in Phoenix, Ariz.
“The NCGA staff
is committed to communicating corn grower issues to the public,
other producers, industry and government, and it is rewarding to
be recognized for our efforts,” said NCGA Communications Director
Mimi Ricketts, who accepted the awards.
NCGA won a merit award
in the “Events, More than One Day” category for the
2004 Corn Utilization and Technology Conference event. This was
an in-house project that included online marketing, print pieces,
a CD-ROM, unique logo and other components.
The association also
won a merit award in the “Digital Presentation” category
for the Insect Resistance Management Learning Center, a Web-based
module that informs growers about proper IRM stewardship practices.
NCGA staff collaborated with Broadhead + Company Inc. and Adayana
Inc. on the project.
In the “Customer
Brochures, Catalogs/Farmer Directed – Series” category,
NCGA won a first-place award for the 2004 World of Corn, an annual
publication featuring information and statistics on the corn industry.
The publication was designed and produced by Broadhead + Company
Inc.
