NCGA Encourages Corn
Growers to Get Involved in Association Leadership (12-2-05)
As the deadline for filing 2006-2007 Corn Board applications
nears, the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) reminds growers across
the country to get involved with one of the nation’s most active
agricultural trade organizations and send in an application to become
an integral member of the Corn Board.
NCGA President Gerald Tumbleson noted that having a variety of growers
participating on the Corn Board will ensure the organization and the
corn industry will continue to be a strong voice.
“Serving on the NCGA Corn Board is a great opportunity to advance
our industry and agriculture as a whole, to enhance opportunities for
all corn growers and to strengthen the future of agriculture policy,” said
Tumbleson. “There is a tremendous amount of experienced and talented
growers involved in our action teams and committees. We encourage everyone
to take the next step in the leadership ladder at NCGA.”
For questions regarding the Corn Board, applicants can contact Nominating
Committee members Chairman Leon Corzine, Gary Schmalshof, Tom Nathan,
John Tibbits and Jim Meyer.
Applications are due to Kathy Baker in the St. Louis office by close
of business Friday, Jan. 13, 2006.
Nominated candidates will be introduced at Corn Congress during the
2006 Commodity Classic in Anaheim, Calif., March 2-4. Corn Board candidates
will be elected at the July 2006 meeting of Corn Congress in Washington,
D.C.
