NCGA: Harvest Provides Opportunity for Great Photos (9-2-04)

As farmers throughout the Corn Belt ready their combines for this year’s harvest, the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) reminds them to ready their cameras as well, and take photos for entry in the NCGA “Gallery of Corn” Photo Contest.

The contest is open to NCGA members, their families, affiliated state organization members and employees to showcase the nation’s top crop. A grand prize of $500 will be awarded as well as cash prizes in each category.

“Harvest provides many chances to get some great corn production photos,” said Mark Garber, chair of NCGA’s Grower Services Action Team. “We encourage all members to send in their favorite corn photos or to pick up their cameras and snap photos to be entered in the contest’s seven categories.”

Entrants may submit photos in the following categories:

* Planting
* Growing
* Harvesting
* Livestock
* Families on the Farm
* Scenic
* Miscellaneous

Deadline for entries is Nov. 1, 2004. Winners will be announced December 2004. All winning photographs will be displayed at Corn Congress at the 2005 Commodity Classic in Austin, Texas.
