Registration Makes NCGA National Corn Yield Contest Entry Easier (6-25-04)
Next deadline is July 1
Entering the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) National
Corn Yield Contest (NCYC) just got easier. Corn growers entering
the nation’s premier agricultural production competition
can now register online at www.ncga.com. And the timing is right,
with July 1 as the next deadline for entries.
Ron Fitchhorn, chair of NCGA’s Production & Stewardship
Action Team, which oversees the contest, says the online registration
is a tool that makes registering more convenient.
“You can register in a matter of minutes, and it’s
done,” Fitchhorn said. “All you have to do then is
grow the corn – and make your reservations for Commodity
Classic in Austin.”
Fitchhorn explained state and national winners of the NCYC will
be recognized at Commodity Classic, the combined convention and
trade show of NCGA and the American Soybean Association, Feb. 24-26,
2005, in Austin, Texas.
“Growers really need to get their yield contest entry in
and postmarked by July 1 in order to save money on their registration
fees,” Fitchhorn continued, explaining that the July 1 fees
of $65 will jump to $85 on July 2. The final registration deadline
is Aug. 1.
In addition to online registration, growers can register by downloading
PDF files from www.ncga.com, or obtaining registration forms by
calling Judy Hall at 636-733-9004, ext. 129; e-mail, hall@ncga.com.
