NCGA to Democratic Presidential Candidates in Iowa: Prove Ethanol Support (1-16-04)

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) is sending a message to the Democratic presidential hopefuls in an ad to run in the Des Moines Register Monday, Jan. 19. The half-page ad, which will run statewide in the news section, calls upon each candidate to prove his support for ethanol.

“You each support ethanol, right?” reads the headline. “Now’s your chance to prove it.”

“The Iowa Caucus represents the ideal time for corn growers to address the candidates on this issue,” said NCGA President Dee Vaughan. “The fact remains we still have an energy bill to complete no matter who is sitting in the Oval Office next year. The time to act on this legislation is now.”

The ad is co-sponsored by the Iowa Corn Growers Association.
