Take
Advantage of Commodity Classic Pre-registration Rates Before Feb.
10 (2-6-04)
The National Corn Growers
Association (NCGA) reminds corn and soybean growers that pre-registration
for the ninth annual Commodity Classic, March 2-4 in Las Vegas ends
Feb. 10. Attendees registering after Feb. 10 will pay an additional
$25.
"We're getting to
the point where Classic is just a few weeks away," said Mark
Schweers, co-chair of the Commodity Classic Grower Committee. "It's
best to get your reservations in now. Things are really filling up
fast."
Due to the overwhelming
response to this year's event, the main convention hotel, the Las
Vegas Hilton, has no vacancies remaining. To accommodate growers who
have not yet registered, four other hotels within walking distance
from the Hilton are accepting reservations, Schweers said. For more
information on these hotels or to make reservations, call 1-800-332-5333,
or log on to www.commodityclassic.com
and click on the "Housing" button. Attendees are also encouraged
to contact the Hilton to inquire about possible reservation cancellations.
With more than
170 companies filling nearly 700 booths at the Commodity Classic Trade
Show, Schweers said this year's Classic is shaping up to be one of
the best ever. Registration is also well ahead of last year's pace,
he said. In an effort to make the registration process as simple as
possible, attendees may register online at
www.commodityclassic.com.
"Everything is coming
together real well," said Schweers, who farms near Wisner, Neb.
"There are a lot of new products coming out on the market that
growers will be able to see, and we have some great speakers lined
up as well. It's going to be quite an event."
Sen. Pete Domenici
(R-N.M.), chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, is scheduled to
address the General Session. The agenda also includes a full slate
of learning centers, entertainment, tours, banquets and product demonstrations,
as well as NCGA Corn Congress and the American Soybean Association
delegate meetings.
