Dickey to Use Experience in State Legislature During Corn Board Election
(7-2-03)
Editor’s Note: Over
the next three weeks, we will feature the profiles of the growers
seeking election to the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Corn
Board for the 2003-2004 term. Elections will be held at the Corn Congress
session in Washington, D.C., July 14-16. Today’s profile is
of Bob Dickey, a member of the Ethanol Committee and a corn grower
from Laurel, Neb.
If elected to the NCGA
Corn Board, Bob Dickey has said he would serve to the best of his
ability to make a positive difference. His personal expectations of
a board member are the ability to demonstrate leadership skills and
a strong sense of character and integrity. He believes his experience
as a Nebraska State Senator would be helpful for NCGA in Washington,
DC, and state legislative affairs.
Dickey expects board members
to have a personal vision of success for the association and the corn
industry. Dickey’s perspective of NCGA is an organization that
addresses priorities of US corn growers through action teams and committees.
He believes with the use of modern technology, NCGA communicates efficiently
and effectively with its members and others.
Dickey has served on the
Nebraska Corn Board for nearly 10 years and has been extensively involved
in numerous committees and offices, including chairman.
