Anthrax
Disrupts D.C. Mail Delivery, But NCGA Encourages Electronic Communication
(10-30-01)
Recent anthrax attacks
have put a halt to mail delivery in Washington, D.C., and the National
Corn Growers Association (NCGA) office, located near Capitol Hill, is
feeling the effects. "We haven't received any appreciable mail
delivery at the office for five days," said Bruce Knight, NCGA
vice president of public policy. Mail service to congressional offices
is also suspended until affected Post Offices are sanitized, and it
is deemed safe to resume service.
"Although mail
has stopped or at least slowed, we are still available through phone,
fax and e-mail, and we continue working on vital agriculture legislation
such as Farm Bill and Trade Promotion Authority," Knight added.
"Even with the mail out, producers can use e-mail, telephone or
faxes to contact their representatives in Washington, D.C. And another
option is to call, write or e-mail the office in the representative's
district."
To find your Congressional
delegate's phone, fax or email address, check out the NCGA web page
and the Legislative Action Center, or click on the following hyperlink:

From the center, you will have access to contact information as well
as information on key corn grower issues.
