NCGA Welcomes New Colorado
Corn CEO (10-12-01)
The
National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) congratulates Russ Curry on
his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer for the Colorado Corn
Administrative Committee (CCAC) and the Colorado Corn Growers Association
(CCGA).
NCGA
CEO and Executive Vice President Rick Tolman said Curry is a welcome
addition to a great program. "Russ has a great background in agriculture
and knows the needs of the corn growers in Colorado," he said.
"We're glad to have him on board and are looking forward to working
with him."
Curry
brings with him an extensive knowledge base. He graduated from the University
of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics in 1983.
For 11 years he worked with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) where he held
a number of staff and leadership positions, both domestic and global.
His responsibilities ranged from whole grains to fermentation production.
After
his work at ADM, Curry spent time in the retail industry honing his
consumer skills as a team leader in administration and sales. Curry
worked designing field crop supply chains at his Georgia office before
accepting the position with the Colorado Corn organizations. He'll be
combining his vast array of experience in global agribusiness, leadership
and sales to lead Colorado Corn to a successful future.
"We
are not forgetting our past, our heritage or the values that got us
here," Curry said. "But we have seen the future and are comfortable
with it."
Colorado
Corn continues its work to increase the profitability and environmental
sustainability of corn producers. "We are looking forward to collaborating
with all those that we have in the past as well as adding to that number
in the future," Curry said.
