Corn Growers Tune-in for Trade Promotion Authority (11-02-01)

Airwaves across the country are filled with a simple message from the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the agriculture coalition for trade - pass HR 3005, the Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority bill.

"Trade Promotion Authority will facilitate access to foreign markets where 96% of the world's consumers reside, bringing new opportunities for our nation's corn growers," said Tim Hume, a Walsh, Colo., corn grower and president of NCGA. "The radio ad will help NCGA reach out to producers across the country, and ask them to voice their support for TPA."

"TPA will help open new export markets," Hume continued, "and will give the President the ability to negotiate favorable trade agreements from a position of strength." A vote on Trade Promotion Authority is likely to occur within the next five days. The radio ad will run during the days leading up to the vote, and can be heard on NCGA's web page. Click here for Real Media or here for Windows Media to listen in. While you are there, visit the Legislative Action Center and drop a note to your representative in Washington. Encourage them to pass TPA now.
