NCGA
Hosts Korean Feed Association Visit (6-5-01)
The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) hosted representatives
from the Korean Feed Association at the St. Louis offices Monday. St.
Louis was but one stop for the seven Korean nationals, whose purpose
for visiting was to observe production and handling systems of U.S.
feed grains, to discuss the latest issues of grains, including biotech
crops and to introduce Korean feed industry leaders to their U.S. counterparts
and government officials. NCGA Vice-President of Marketing Brian Stockman
and NCGA Director of Industry Relations Tom Slunecka met with the group,
which included the chairman of the Korean Feed Association, Ill Young
Jeong; the Korean director of the U.S. Grains Council (USGC), Young
In Park, Ph.D.; the president of the Korea Rural Economic Institute,
Jung Il Kang, Ph.D; and the president of the Tailhan Bulk Terminal,
Co., Sang Chol Yoo. The tour, co-sponsored by the Foreign Agriculture
Service and U.S. Grains Council, continued on to Chicago and will wrap
up when they depart Minneapolis, Minn., Thursday.
