Corn Board on Capitol Hill


Members of the NCGA Corn Board meet at the White House with Gary Edsen, assistant to the president for international economic affairs, during their meeting last week in Washington, D.C. Clothing manufacturer facturer Kanebo Gohsen Ltd. of Japan is a major customer of Cargill Dow's PLA. Representatives of these two companies as well as Japanese trading company Itochu International and U.S. Grains Council recently visited NCGA to explain the potential for PLA's use in fabrics and to display samples of the products that are being tested in select markets in
Japan. The NCGA Production & Stewardship Action Team also toured Lock and Dam 15 at Rock Island. In its push for lock and dam improvements on the Upper Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, NCGA is pushing for guidewall extensions at L&D 15.
