NCGA Set to Defend Farm Programs When Congress Returns

Corn growers and other producers will be challenged to make the case that the farm bill is working and should not be altered when the annual spending bill for agriculture is taken up by the Senate after the August recess, according to the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). Ethanol Pump Tour to Make Two Stops in Indiana

The Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Doane Broadcasting's AgriTalk Radio have teamed up to bring the ethanol pump tour to Indiana. Two stops are slated for Aug. 8 and 9 and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Patrons will not only get their gas pumped but will have a chance to win a $25 courtesy gas card. (More On This Story)

Trade policy, sweetener industry effects on the U.S. economy and World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations were the focus of discussions at the 20th Annual International Sweetener Symposium in Blaine, Wash., Aug. 3-6. (More On This Story)

NCGA Pleased With APHIS Action on Biotechnology

The National Corn Growers Association is pleased with the new Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service interim rule on biotechnology regulations requiring those wanting to move, field test or import corn for the production of industrial enzymes to apply for a permit. NCGA Producers Committed to Providing Beef Producers High-Quality Product

Beef, a staple of the American diet and nostalgic reminder of the Old West, is a key market for the nation’s corn growers. With 5,600 million bushels of corn consumed by all livestock sectors, the National Corn Growers Association is committed to focusing on livestock and production-related issues to support the domestic livestock and poultry industry. NCGA-sponsored Pump Tour to Celebrate 25 Years of Ethanol in Iowa

Ethanol turns 25 years old in Iowa and the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, the Coon Rapids Tall Corn Ethanol plant and Doane Broadcasting are celebrating by bringing the AgriTalk Radio pump tour to the T&D Standard Station in Coon Rapids Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (More On This Story)
