Oct. 17: The National Corn Growers Association’s 2011 Social Media Training Program will feature a webinar this week that will offer a look at the latest developments in the world of social media, including recent changes to Facebook and Google+, and how they affect users. The program is generously supported by Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont Business, and is the 10th of 12 free hour-long online learning sessions underway monthly through 2011.

“I have been an avid Facebook and Twitter user for years now and have experienced first-hand many improvements and changes to these platforms,” said Grower Services Action Team Chair Brandon Hunnicutt. “As farmers, we understand that to do the best job possible you must continually keep abreast of the latest technology. This webinar provides an opportunity to learn how to keep ahead of the social media pack and make sure that you get the maximum impact possible from the time you invest.”

In light of the constant evolution of social media, users are continually faced to changing formats and new platforms. This webinar explain not only how to deal with these changes, but also how to take advantage of them. Joining the webinar to talk about his involvement in Google+ is Chuck Zimmerman, a co-founder of ZimmComm New Media and longtime advocate for social media use in the agriculture industry.

The webinar starts at 7 a.m. CDT Thursday, October 20. Follow-up webinars are planned for November 17 and December 15. Registration prior to the event is strongly recommended. Click here to register or get more information.
