July 23: Tomorrow, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series™ heads to Ohio for the inaugural Mudsummer Classic at one of the world’s most iconic dirt tracks, Eldora Speedway. This race, which will showcase the sport’s biggest names including American Ethanol spokesman Austin Dillon, is the first NASCAR-sanctioned national event held on a dirt track since 1970. Dillon will drive ethanol into the spotlight as he takes on the mud in the No. 39 American Ethanol Chevrolet truck.

Anticipated to be one of the most watched events of NASCAR’s 2013 season, the Mudsummer Classic will appear on the SPEED Channel courtesy of a special entitlement sponsorship by American Ethanol. Join in the all-American fun tomorrow as coverage of the 10:35 p.m. race begins at 8 p.m. Central Time on SPEED.

“Everyone familiar with NASCAR is buzzing about the historic event tomorrow in Eldora,” said National Corn Growers Association NASCAR Committee Chair Jon Holzfaster. “For farmers, that excitement translates into a unique platform to showcase the incredible performance and reliability that ethanol offers American consumers. The race, along with the massive promotional efforts undertaken by Dillon’s team, will bring attention not only to how ethanol performs under truly extreme circumstances but also to the savings it can offer all of us at the pump.”

Get revved up for the big event by visiting a special blog on NASCAR.com with a map of Austin Dillon’s travel and tweets on the road to Eldora by clicking here. The blog, a unique social media venture tracking Dillon’s journey from Chicago to Ohio, provides an insightful look at how flex fuel vehicles, E85 and E15 can help consumers save money as gas prices rise faster than the summer temperatures.

Launched by Growth Energy and the National Corn Growers Association, along with the support of other partners, American Ethanol is a breakthrough brand that seeks to expand consumer awareness of the benefits of ethanol and E15, and takes the NASCAR Green initiative to the next level. Since the program launch for the 2011 season, NASCAR drivers have run more than 4 million miles on renewable Sunoco Green E15.
