Do you want cleaner air, a stronger economy, vibrant rural communities, and energy independence? The EPA needs to hear from you by Monday, July 11. That’s the deadline to submit comments related to the 2017 Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO), or the amount of ethanol and other renewable fuels blended into our national fuel supply.
EPA has proposed cutting the volume of ethanol by 200 million gallons – that’s 71.4 million bushels of corn, or 425,000 acres, that will not be sold. If the cuts stand, it will total $271 million in lost revenue, and have a ripple effect throughout the rural economy. EPA needs to hear from all of us.
