Livestock
Livestock touches all of NCGA’s key issues, and there are many crossover areas among action teams and working groups. Ensuring a market for corn, as well as processed corn and co-products remains as the main challenge for the livestock program. NCGA often works on issues such as nutrient composition, co-product utilization, environmental regulations, land rights, and trade issues. These are areas where NCGA can be involved and truly benefit the nation’s livestock production. On other issues, such as herd health issues, and other factors create disturbances in the production and consumption of meat products NCGA supports its sister organizations through communications and other supporting roles.

NCGA is a member of the Center for Food Integrity's Animal Ag Committee. This is a forum for those involved in animal production to exchange ideas, and discuss challenges and solutions to issues facing U.S. animal agriculture production. Collectively, beef, poultry, pork and dairy producers represent corn growers’ number-one customer, consuming more than 5 billion bushels annually.
