ST. LOUIS (December 23, 2008) -- The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has released updated information for corn growers concerned about the status of pending contracts with the bankrupt ethanol producer VeraSun.

Not only was the number of entries (6,725) higher than ever before, and double the number in 2006, but several entrants scored yields of more than double the estimated national average.

ST. LOUIS (December 2, 2008) -- The U.S. Bankruptcy Court presiding over the VeraSun Energy Corporation case today considered concerns of corn growers and suppliers. Legal Counsel for an ad hoc advisory committee formed by the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), state affiliated organizations, and others participated in today’s hearing in Wilmington, Delaware. As expected, bankruptcy law and the ruling will allow VeraSun to reject any contracts that are economically disadvantageous to VeraSun, including corn growers’ contracts.

ST. LOUIS, MO (November 25, 2008) – National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Chairman Ron Litterer and others have filed a formal objection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware regarding the proposed disposition of corn contracts by VeraSun Energy Corporation.
