LOUIS (December 19, 2008) -- Corn growers shattered yield records in a year beset with weather problems, using innovative production techniques and improved seed varieties to achieve top numbers in the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) 2008 National Corn Yield Contest. ST. LOUIS (December 2, 2008) -- The U.S. Bankruptcy Court presiding over the VeraSun Energy Corporation case today considered concerns of corn growers and suppliers. Legal Counsel for an ad hoc advisory committee formed by the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), state affiliated organizations, and others participated in today’s hearing in Wilmington, Delaware. As expected, bankruptcy law and the ruling will allow VeraSun to reject any contracts that are economically disadvantageous to VeraSun, including corn growers’ contracts.
