Dec. 29: As NCGA looks forward to 2010, each Action Team chair spoke about their team’s priorities for the upcoming year. Tim Dolan of Winthrop, Minn., chair of the Grower Services Action Team spoke on why his group believes the 2010 image and activism campaign in crucial to corn growers.

Larry Hasheider of Okawville, Ill., chair of the Research and Business Development Action Team spoke on how his group will build on last year’s successes to drive demand for a growing supply of corn.

Dec. 23: As the holidays approach, harvest is wrapping up across the Corn Belt. The final U.S. Department of Agriculture Crop Progress report for the 2009 growing season indicated that 95 percent of the corn harvest is complete nationally. To complete what has become the slowest harvest in 35 years, farmers continued to work well into December. Despite dogged determination, some areas of the Northern Corn Belt are still well behind the five-year harvest progress average at this time.

Dec. 22: America’s Heartland stands center-stage in telling the story of American agriculture. As the only nationally broadcast program of its kind, America’s Heartland connects consumers to America’s agricultural communities. This week, the program has reached an important milestone: broadcasting its 100th episode to audiences on public television and RFD-TV.
