Keith Alverson, of Chester, S.D., serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association, a farmer-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.
Alverson and his wife, Kari, operate a sixth-generation grain farm with his parents, aunt and uncle, growing 2,600 acres of corn and soybeans.
Alverson represents NCGA on the Board of Directors for the Field to Market sustainability initiative and serves as chair of NCGA’s Climate Task Force, as well as sitting on the Finance Committee.
Previously, he served as board liaison to the Stewardship Action Team and the Ethanol Committee. A graduate of the association’s Advanced Leadership and Leadership At Its Best programs, he served as chair of NCGA’s Ethanol Committee prior to election to the Corn Board.
At the state level, Alverson currently serves on the board of directors for the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. Previously, he served as President of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association and as the vice president of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council.
