Fall marketing concerns related to Agrisure Viptera™
For the 2011 growing season, Syngenta® commercialized a new biotechnology trait, Agrisure Viptera™ through product names Agrisure Viptera 3110 & 3111. This was sold through its seed partners Golden Harvest®, Garst®, NK®, and additional independent retailers.

Commercialization of Viptera was done in accordance with the U.S. regulatory approval system and met the policy requirements of NCGA and Biotechnology Industry Organization. Beginning in July 2011, several grain exporters posted signs restricting delivery (Consolidated Grain and Barge, Bunge North America) and others are asking for notification prior to the delivery of grain containing Viptera. This policy was adopted by these companies in response to potentially new major importers entering the marketplace that have not approved this trait for import.
Due to these events, NCGA urges all members and corn growers, to familiarize themselves with this situation and review their new crop marketing obligations. If you have concerns or conflicts, please raise them with your buyer and/or seed company and work toward resolution prior to harvest if necessary.
Syngenta has made available resources to growers to answer any questions regarding fall delivery of Agrisure Viptera through the website: www.AgrisureViptera.com/exportinfo.
Syngenta has established a toll-free number with a listing of sites accepting grain with the Agrisure Viptera trait by ZIP code. To access this information, please call 800-319-1360 between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. CST, Monday through Saturday or email Export.Info@syngenta.com.
Currently NCGA has been notified by the following buyers their policy on Agrisure Viptera:
Conslidated Grain and Barge: Signs posted not accepting the product
Bunge North Amercia: Signs posted not accepting the product
