Orange Rule
National Corn Yield Contest
Orange Rule

The premier event of every corn growing season for 43 years, the National Corn Yield Contest (NCYC), offers challenges and rewards to each entrant! Last year a record 4,932 growers accepted the challenge to test their corn production skill and knowledge by competing with proven winners to reach the ultimate goal of CHAMPION. National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) wants to challenge you to take advantage of this opportunity to explore new ideas and production techniques, while gleaning knowledge to enhance your future yield potential.

Winners will receive national recognition in publications such as the NCYC Corn Yield Guide, as well as cash trips or other awards from participating sponsoring seed, chemical and crop protection companies. In Dallas, Texas, during the 2009 Commodity Classic, state winners will be presented awards at the NCYC Breakfast and national winners will receive awards at the Awards Banquet.

For those who have accepted the challenge to compete in past NCYC, there are several important changes to contest regulations. After each contest a group of NCGA corn growers review the NCYC Rules and approve changes to make the contest entry and harvest process less complicated while maintaining integrity.

ALL PROSPECTIVE ENTRANTS SHOULD REVIEW AND BE FAMILIAR WITH IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE RULES FOR THE 2008 CONTEST, ESPECIALLY REGARDING THE NUMBER OF SUPERVISORS REQUIRED FOR CHECKS AND RECHECKS. DETAILS ARE IN THE COVER LETTER WITH THE 2008 ENTRY FORM.
